Common Assessment Standard

The Common Assessment Standard, developed by Build UK, has transformed the construction pre-qualification (PQ) process, improving efficiency, reducing cost and raising quality standards. Companies that have the Common Assessment Standard are certified once a year by a Recognised Assessment Body and this is accepted by a growing list of Contractors and Clients who no longer specify a particular assessment body.

Increasing the Use of Smart Technology

With the last Build UK SmartCard Audit revealing that only 53% of cards were checked using Smart Technology, Build UK and CSCS have published guidance on ‘How to be a Smart Site’ together with a handy poster to help companies realise the benefits.

Improving Building Safety

Following the fire at Grenfell Tower in 2017, Build UK’s work on building safety focusses on four key areas: Insurance, Competence, Remediation of Existing Buildings, and The Future System.
