Have Your Say on the State of Trade

Following the successful launch of the Build UK State of Trade Survey earlier this year, Build UK members are now being asked to complete the latest survey to provide an updated picture of the state of trade within the industry.

The quarterly survey, which is carried out in partnership with Glenigan, covers key areas such as enquiries, output, capacity, margins, tender prices, training and skills, payment and disputes and the findings are extremely useful to Build UK when carrying out representation on behalf of its members.

The previous State of Trade Report for the last quarter of 2015 showed that contractors were generally nearing full capacity which was resulting in rising labour costs and significant recruitment difficulties. The results were covered by CITB, Construction News and a number of other trade publications and were used by the Bank of England to gauge the state of the sector. Build UK also contributes to the industry-wide State of Trade report compiled by the Construction Products Association (CPA) each quarter.

The survey only takes a few minutes to complete and Main and Specialist Contractors can share their views online via the Build UK website until Friday 15 April 2016.

All information provided will remain confidential to Build UK and those companies that submit data will receive a copy of the final report produced by Glenigan.
