Build UK Accident Survey is Now Live
Build UK members can demonstrate that they are playing their part in working towards a safer industry by submitting their accident figures for April 2015 – March 2016 to the Build UK Accident Survey.
The report published is a fantastic way of demonstrating the safety record of Build UK members to clients and the wider industry. The survey also helps to identify accident trends and enables us to produce guidance and reduce the risk of similar incidents in the future.
Specialist Contractors can provide their statistics for 1 April 2015 – 31 March 2016 by completing a short online survey which allows members to enter information quickly and easily with their Accident Book to hand. All Build UK Specialist Contractors are encouraged to provide their information even if they have not had any accidents over the last 12 months as the injury rates are calculated using the number of people exposed to risk as well as the number of incidents reported. The deadline for responses is 29 July 2015.
Contractor Members should ensure that their accident statistics for 1 April 2015 – 31 March 2016 have been submitted to the online portal and are correct. Data for April and May 2016 should be submitted in the usual way however in June 2016 the collection portal for Contractor Member accident statistics will change and details of the new arrangements will be circulated to members in due course.
The 2014 – 15 Build UK accident report showed that:

Caution should be exercised when considering the results as it is believed that the figures for the industry as compiled by the HSE are under-reported by approximately 40% and those for Build UK are merely projected for comparison purposes. There may also be an element of duplicate reporting by Build UK members of Specified and Over 7-Day Injuries.
