Reskilling the Recovery

Build UK is pleased to be supporting a new campaign, Reskilling the Recovery, led by the London Progression Collaboration. The initiative helps large employers in London to support small construction firms and the supply chain across the capital by pledging unspent apprenticeship levy to the fund.

The campaign has raised more than £600,000 of unused apprenticeship levy funding to date, enabling small businesses to cover the cost of apprenticeships to retain and retrain staff, and has received support from the BBC, Amazon, and Avison Young.

Skills development has been identified as key to delivering the aims to restart, reset and reinvent industry identified in the Construction Leadership Council (CLC) Roadmap to Recovery. Build UK members now have the opportunity to be among the first in the sector to support the campaign and have influence over how unspent levy funds are directed towards small construction firms.

Build UK members with London portfolios can get involved in Reskilling the Recovery by:

  • Pledging a portion of unspent apprenticeship levy to the campaign
  • Helping LPC to reach small businesses through the organisation’s supply chain
  • Network-sharing the campaign.
