Bridge into Construction Programme – An Update
Build UK and Collab Group are pleased to announce that 10 colleges are participating in the Bridge into Construction Programme for 2018/19.
Blackpool, Barnet & Southgate, and BMET in Birmingham colleges have already started delivering the programme.
Work Experience requirements:
- Barnet & Southgate – Work Placement required from January 2019 for ideally two weeks
- Blackpool – Work Placement required in March for 2 weeks
- BMET – 30-hour work placements
73 learners have started including one female-only cohort in Birmingham.
The following colleges will start the programme in due course:
- LSEC – London South East Colleges
- North West London
- South Essex
- South Thames
Build UK would like members to support the work placement element of this scheme. It is fantastic to see members such as Berkeley Group and Kier already confirmed to support the students with work experience.
With the introduction of T-Levels, it is a great way to start to develop your relationship with the colleges and provide the much-needed experience students need to understand the world of work in construction.
