Build UK Members Get Ready for Open Doors 2016

Open Doors 2016 is just weeks away and Build UK members are getting ready for one of the biggest events in the construction industry calendar.  More than 70 projects are already confirmed and will open their gates to the public from 13 – 18 June.

Willmott Dixon, Kier and Galliford Try Group are just some of the big names offering an exclusive, behind the scenes look at life on the UK’s most innovative construction projects.  Sites participating this year include London’s Design Museum, a Proton Beam Therapy Centre in Manchester, a children’s hospital in Edinburgh and a state-of-the-art school and sports facility in south Wales.

The event, which is a joint initiative with CITB and Go Construct, and supported by Construction News and the Considerate Constructors Scheme, is aimed at people of all ages and skills who may be considering a career in construction.  Once on site, visitors will find out exactly what it takes to create the iconic buildings of the future, and will be encouraged to find out more about the range of careers available.

Build UK Chief Executive Suzannah Nichol MBE said:

“We are delighted to be running Open Doors again this year.  It really is a fantastic way to learn more about this diverse and thriving industry.  We've had a great response from our members and I would urge any sites that have not yet registered to sign up today – it’s a great opportunity to showcase your projects and attract the brightest talent”.

Build UK members who would like to register their sites for Open Doors 2016 are requested to do so by Friday 20th May.  Sign up today.
